ACCOMMODATION
You’re all staying in the main village either at The Avancher, Cinq Freres or at Chalet Suzaku. You can find which hotel you’re staying at on the Transfer Spreadsheet.
Rooms & village tax have been paid for you (this includes breakfast every morning). Anything additional e.g. bar tabs, room service etc, can be settled when you check out.
(Expect the trip to take 3 hours).
TRANSFERS
All your transfers have been sorted & paid for - you will be travelling with a company called ‘Snowdrone’.
You should have received an email from Tash which contains everyone's transfer details. Please check this and triple check your contact details on the Transfer Spreadsheet.
If anything is incorrect, contact Snowdrone directly on: info@snow-drone.com (with Tash in cc).
Geneva > Val d’Isere:
Snowdrone’s Geneva Airport meeting point is the Hub N Co. Cafe. This is immediately to the left as you come through the sliding doors after baggage reclaim into the arrivals hall - they should have your surnames on a sign or will be holding a sign saying ‘Snowdrone’.
Val d’Isere > Geneva :
On return, you will be collected from your hotel. Snowdrone will text you the day before travel to confirm the exact collection time.
If you have any issues on the day of travel, please contact Snowdrone directly on any of the below numbers:

SKI PASSES
If you are skiing, we would recommend getting the Tignes + Val d’Isere pass, as this gives you access to the whole ski area.
Prices can be found below:
X1 day: €71
X2 days: €142
X3 days: €213
For those of you staying at The Avancher & Cinq Frere, you can email the concierge and ask them to purchase these for you. That way, they’ll be waiting at reception on your arrival (one less thing to do when you arrive!) You can then pay for these when you check out.
Please find emails below of who to get in contact with at each hotel:
Avancher:
Email: info@hotel-avancher-valdisere.com
Booking reference number: N°#8030
Booking Name: Christopher Alderson
Cinq Freres:
Email: contact@les5freres.com
Booking Name: Christopher Alderson
For those of you staying at Chalet Suzaku, we will collect your passes for you. Please book these on the Val d’Isere website and then Whatsapp us your booking reference.
Also if you don’t fancy a ski every day but want to head up the mountain (e.g. to meet others for lunch) you can get a pedestrian pass which is €22 return - these are very easy to buy at the ticket office in town.
SKI RENTAL
For those staying at The Avancher -
‘Sport 2000’ (rental place directly opposite) operates a 20% discount when staying at the hotel. I think you need to email them and ask for a specific link in order to obtain the discount when booking online: info@hotel-avancher-valdisere.com
For those staying at The Cinq Freres -
They have a deal with the Intersport ‘Front de Neige’ branch - please email them to find out about this, to make sure it is redeemable when you book online: contact@les5freres.com You are also very close to Ski Republic (another option below), so do a bit of price comparison and make your choice!
For those staying at Chalet Suzaku -
We would recommend renting with one of the below, depending on whether you prefer better equipment or if you’re not bothered, a cheaper price:
InterSport: (make sure you select ‘Front de Neige’ when booking.) They have better equipment but are more £££
Ski Republic: (make sure you select ‘Val Village’) If you’re less bothered about quality of equipment, this is the one to go for!
GETTING AROUND
You can find all the restaurants & bars we’re going to on this Google Maps link (as well as a couple of other useful bits like the pharmacy, tourist office etc) and we would recommend downloading the Val d’Isere app for a map of the ski area (it also gives you latest lift closure & weather updates).
You’re all staying in the village so it is possible to walk everywhere or there are free buses which run between Le Fornet & La Daille (the two furthest points in Val d’Isere - the village is in-between these two).
Please note; those staying at The Avancher will need to take the bus to the ski area. It is possible to ski back, but you need to be a fairly competent skier to do so.
SKI INSTRUCTORS
For first time skiers, we 100% recommend getting at least one lesson. We would recommend Oxygene ski school.
DRESS CODE
Val d’Isere is very relaxed - people tend to wear snow boots, jeans, jumpers and ski jackets around town and to restaurants (that’s what we’ll be doing!)
But there is one night that we ask you to dress up a little - this will be Thursday and the theme is ‘Alpine chic’. On this night we’ll be having drinks and canapés at the chalet and going to a more fancy restaurant afterwards.
For the girls - dresses, long jumpsuits, trousers + a nice top etc (but a reminder - heels in the snow is a NO NO) and for the men; shirts, jumpers and jackets. But bear in mind - you’ll probably whack your ski jacket over the top, as it’s cold.

IF YOU’RE NOT SKIING
There’s plenty to do around town (shopping, spa, aquacentre, climbing, cinema, ice skating, cycling, dog sledging…). We would also recommend the below x2 walks:
Walk to / around the Manchet valley. Head to ‘Le Piaf Val d’Isere’ marked on the Google Maps List and you will find a gorgeous walking track in amongst the mountains.
Walk to Pont St Charles. Take the free bus in the village to Le Fornet and walk up the walking track towards ‘Pont St Charles’ marked on the Google Maps list.

When you arrive, you’ll find disposable cameras in your room. We would love for you to capture as much of the weekend on these as possible. We’ll come and collect them on the final morning, or if you’re leaving early on Sunday - please remember to give them back to us on Saturday Evening.
